Bhawanipatna: To promote malaria prevention in at-risk communities, Vedanta Aluminium has initiated a comprehensive campaign in the Kalahandi district, coinciding with World Malaria Day.
The awareness initiative targeted the villages of Nakrundi and Gunpur, as well as other isolated regions.
The campaign included engaging street performances by experienced artists, drawing in over 380 local residents.
These performances showcased essential malaria prevention methods, particularly the use of medicated mosquito nets that were previously distributed by Vedanta’s Sijimali Bauxite team. After the shows, villagers engaged in interactive discussions, allowing them to ask questions and share their experiences, thereby enhancing their understanding of malaria management.
Sunil Gupta, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Vedanta Aluminium, stated, “We understand that health is crucial for vibrant communities and sustainable growth.”
He added, “Our dedication extends beyond healthcare provision; we aim to cultivate a wellness culture through extensive outreach initiatives that educate and empower individuals at the grassroots level.”
